why they shouldn't have people make inquiry calls on their first day on the job
me: hi, i'm calling from the studio theatre to make sure that we have all of our contact information up to date- can i ask you some questions?
random guy who answered the phone: where are you calling from?
me: the studio theatre.
random guy: where?
me: the studio theatre.
random guy: where is that?
me: at the corner of P and 14th Street.
random guy: have i ever seen a show there?
me: are you [insert name of person i thought i was talking to]?
random guy: no.
me: then i don't know- but he's been here and liked it enough to get our season calendar.
random guy: oh- well, what kind of plays to you do at the studio theatre?
me: we specialize in contemporary theatre.
random guy: yeah but what kinds of shows do you do?
me (while frantically searching my desk for our season calendar): uh.... uh... fabulous ones?
